When expanded on-site and infilled with soil, aggregate, or concrete, it forms a rigid and durable mattress that significantly enhances the load-bearing capacity of weak subgrades.
Unlike planar geosynthetics, geocells provide true three-dimensional confinement, effectively locking the infill material in place to create a new, composite mechanically stabilized layer.
