The Filter Geotextile is a professional-grade permeable fabric engineered specifically for filtration, separation, and drainage applications. Manufactured from high-tenacity polypropylene (or polyester) filaments/ fibers, this geosynthetic material is designed to retain soil particles while allowing water to flow freely through its structure.Geotextile as a filter can prevent soil from washing into the drainage system. Soil granules will start to dissolve from their initial sites around the drainage, unless they can contaminate the drainage structure. Besides that, it can also disturb the stability of the surface around the drainage.
Filter geotextiles are commonly employed in drainage systems such as French drains and trench drains. They are installed around drainage pipes or within aggregate layers to prevent soil particles from obstructing the system, while still permitting the free flow of water. The fabric serves as a filtration medium, effectively retaining fine soil particles and preventing their migration into the drainage structure.
In addition, filter geotextiles are extensively utilized for erosion control across various applications, including slopes, embankments, and riverbanks. They are placed between the subgrade and protective materials—such as riprap or geogrids—to enhance soil stability and minimize displacement, all while allowing water infiltration.

Filter geotextile finds application in road construction projects. People use it as a separation layer between the subgrade soil and the overlying aggregate layers. The geotextile filter prevents the mixing of different soil layers, reducing the risk of differential settlement and enhancing the structural integrity of the road.
