Uniaxial Geogrid
Uniaxial geogrid, made of high molecular polymer, is extruded into sheet and then punched into regular mesh pattern, and finally stretched in the longitudinal direction.
Description
Uniaxial Geogrid are manufactured from select grades of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins. The resins are highly oriented and resist elongation (creep) when subjected to heavy loads for long periods. In order to achieve superior strength and uniformity, manufacturers punch and draw a homogenous polymer sheet. As a result of this unique process, engineers and contractors benefit from superior junction strength and high-strength connections to other rolls of geogrid or facing components.
Furthermore, Uniaxial Geogridin soils with pH levels measuring as high as 12 show no degradation. Not to mention, they are suitable for both dry and wet environments. Their open aperture structure interlocks with fill material, providing superior load transfer from soil to geogrid.
