Polypropylene geogrid is a geosynthetic material made of polymer, used to reinforce the soil behind the retaining wall. The polypropylene geogrid is installed in the horizontal layer between the wall layers and extends into the soil behind the wall to stabilize the soil, thereby increasing the quality and stability of the wall system. The polypropylene geogrid reinforced filling structure uses PP geogrid, which is made by extrusion and unidirectional stretching of high-density polyethylene. The high demand for geogrid and its application in construction is due to its good tensile strength and higher performance.
The geogrid is manufactured from a punched polypropylene sheet, which is then oriented in three substantially equilateral directions so that the resulting ribs shall have a high degree of molecular orientation, which continues at least in part through the mass of the integral node.
